Until November 4th, or possibly weeks after, there are going to be those of us focused on the national election. Folks, like me, think this election will determine a lot more of our future years than just the next four.
Sure, all politicians lie. Or, discussing politics isnapos;t polite. Or (and this oneI agree with), politics are boring. So?
You donapos;t get to claim "democracy" after stealing one (or two) elections. You donapos;t get to claim "democracy" and then condemn Hamas for victory. You donapos;t get to be champions of "democracy" if you estrange yourself from democratic allies (such as "Old Europe") or non-allies (such as Venezuela or Haiti). You donapos;t get the right to use the word"democracy" and then try to disenfranchise or disable voters from being polled. (Incidentally, Ithink itapos;s strange to use the word "democracy" and then claim that the polls donapos;t matter.)
Vote. And since this is my journal, Iapos;ll suggest voting for Obama.
